Lifehacker

While reading "Hackers and Painters" it occured to me that I might be a life hacker... In months past I've gone through different modes of self-labeling and such, but at the same time I realized that I regularly read a blog entitled lifehacker and wonder if they came up with the name in a similar way.

I refrain from writing as often as I'd like because I usually encounter the same frustration. I can get the thoughts and ideas in my head into the words on the page fast enough. Maybe I should just practice more, unfortunately that means a lot of crap entries while getting there :p I hate crap entries.

Oh, and the first chapter of Hackers and Painters if Fo0k1N AWESOME!11!

The Past 6 Months

...have been spent trying to bring myself up to speed in various areas in my life. This is taking way too fucking long. Unfortunately, there's nothing else to be done but stay the course. My development study objectives have revolved around reaquainting myself with the current incarnations of HTML (XHTML), javascript and CSS. These endeavors have gone well enough, though with limited opportunity for application.
Also on the To Study list are:

Project Management,
Regular Expressions,
C#,
ASP.NET,
Visual Studio 2005,
SQL (T- & PL/),
SQL Server 2005,
Java,
The Eclipse IDE,
Various Design Methodologies / Best Practices,
Windows 2003,
SUSE Linux (10 at this point... 13 by the time I get to it :p),
With additional / optional reading on Perl, C++, Hackers & Painters, Mind Hacks, etc.
Check out a list of the actual books here as exported from a FreeMind Mind Map.

Most of this is made easier by my Safari Bookshelf Subscription.
My Love for this service will be a post unto itself.
No excuses. I know what I want. I have the means to achieve it. Off to read ^_^
